Job Title: Financial Copywriter/Copyeditor
Location: Hybrid onsite, 3 days in Boston (core days: Tues- Thurs)
Duration: 3-6+ months with possible extensions
JOB PURPOSE:
The Copyeditor/Short-Form Writer role combines excellent editorial precision with creative, concise copywriting. The role focuses on writing short-form content such as headlines, social media posts, email copy, web banners, and promotional blurbs, as well as longer-form sales ideas, event materials, and personal investing flyers. This role will also help support our copyediting and proofreading, providing backup to our full time editorial standards manager, and reviewing our full range of marketing and editorial content. This role requires a sharp editorial eye, a firm grasp of investment language, and the ability to simplify complex financial ideas into clear, audience-friendly messaging. Working closely with the editorial team, designers, marketing managers, investment writers and other internal teams, the role will help ensure our content is accurate, engaging, brand-consistent and compliant.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Writes and refines short-form copy, sales materials, client flyers, and event promotion for digital and print use, including headlines, emails, social media posts, video scripts, web pages, sales materials and flyers (for investment professionals and their clients, individual investors).
- Collaborates with writers, designers, and marketers to craft compelling copy that aligns with the organization’s business objectives, brand and style standards.
- Copyedits and proofreads a wide variety of marketing, client-facing and internal content to ensure clarity, consistency, grammar, and adherence to the organization’s voice and brand positioning.
- Reviews and edits investment content to align with both brand and industry standards without compromising technical accuracy.
- Prioritizes and manages multiple deliverables on tight timelines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Communicates all edits and comments in a timely and effective manner.
- Maintains thorough knowledge of all company product lines, business channel communications needs, and major legal and compliance guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in English, Journalism, Communications, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5-6+ years of professional experience in financial copyediting and copywriting.
- Experience in asset or wealth management, financial publishing, or institutional investment communications preferred.
- Excellent command of grammar, syntax, punctuation, and style.
- Expert editing, proofreading, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and manage a high volume of projects simultaneously.
- Strong portfolio of short-form content and evidence of editorial rigor in a regulated industry.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with Adobe Acrobat and project management tools a plus.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across functions and geographies.
