Our client, a leading global professional services organization located in downtown Houston, is seeking a Manager, Administrative Support Services to oversee and elevate a high-performing administrative support function. This individual will lead a team of administrative professionals, drive operational excellence, implement best practices, and ensure exceptional support is delivered across the organization. The ideal candidate will be a strong people leader with experience building teams, developing talent, improving processes, and managing service delivery in a fast-paced professional environment. This is a fully onsite position working standard business hours, 40 hours per week, in a direct hire capacity.
Job Responsibilities:
* Lead, mentor, and develop a team of administrative support professionals
* Oversee day-to-day administrative operations and service delivery standards
* Manage staffing, performance management, coaching, and employee development initiatives
* Drive process improvement and operational efficiency across administrative functions
* Partner with leadership to identify resource needs and workforce planning strategies
* Establish and maintain performance metrics and service level expectations
* Support change management initiatives and administrative team transformation efforts
* Collaborate with practice groups and business leaders to ensure support needs are met
* Resolve escalated personnel, workflow, and operational issues
* Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and client service excellence
Qualifications:
* 7+ years of progressive administrative support, operations, or professional services experience
* Previous people management experience leading administrative or support teams
* Experience within legal, financial services, consulting, or other professional services environments strongly preferred
* Proven ability to manage employee performance, coaching, and professional development
* Strong operational mindset with experience improving workflows and team effectiveness
* Exceptional communication and relationship-building skills across all organizational levels
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
* Demonstrated leadership presence and sound decision-making abilities
* High degree of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and comfort learning new technologies and business systems
