Data Center Lab Technician

**THIS IS AN ONSITE POSITION**

Must Haves:

• 3+ years’ Experience working in a data center
• Rack and stack, configurations, installations

• Linux (OS Installations and Configuration)

• Ruby/Python/Bash

Nice to haves:

• ProxMox
• Server Management and Networking, VLAN
• VMWare, ESXI and Virtualization

Lab Technician

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Lab Technician to assist with day-to-day support, configuration, and troubleshooting of data center systems. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with a foundational background in system administration and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform server management tasks including application support, bug triage, break/fix activities, and proactive hardware/software testing.
• Support system deployment and troubleshooting with a focus on risk mitigation and process improvement.
• Configure servers, perform rack and stack operations, and assist with cabling setup and validation (e.g., LNTP cables and switch mapping).
• Analyze system logs, review UI and dashboards, and follow documented procedures to resolve alerts and incidents.
• Execute bash scripts and automated tests to validate hardware and network connections.
• Provide support across systems, networking, and virtualization layers while developing deeper knowledge of software and infrastructure components.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Solid foundation in Linux system administration (OS Installations and Configuration)

• Experience with server configuration, networking, and VLAN setups.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization technologies (installing, configuring, maintaining, and updating).
• Familiarity with rack and stack procedures and data center cabling standards.
• Ability to troubleshoot using system logs, UIs, and monitoring tools.
• Tenacious, detail-oriented, and capable of working with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ruby/Python/Bash or similar programming experience
• Strong interest in developing deeper skills in systems engineering and testing
• Degree not required, but relevant certifications or hands-on experience is highly valued
• Approachable, friendly, inquisitive, eager to learn, tenacity, coachable, looking for career growth

Data Center Environment:

Data Center consists of 3 rows of hardware (each row has 60 racks), 100+servers and over 400 appliances
