Brand Ambassador | Special Event Staff
Location: Altoona, IA
Pay: $18-$20/hour
Duration: October 2-4, 2026
Temporary Event Opportunity
Beacon Hill’s client is seeking energetic, outgoing, and customer-focused Brand Ambassadors to support a large local festival in Des Moines. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy interacting with the public, creating positive guest experiences, and representing a well-known retail destination.
As a Brand Ambassador, you’ll engage with attendees, distribute promotional items and coupons, answer general questions, and help maintain a welcoming and organized event space. With an expected attendance of over 30,000 guests, this is a great opportunity for candidates who thrive in fast-paced, people-focused environments.
Candidates are welcome to work one shift or multiple shifts throughout the event. Those with availability for multiple days are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Greet and engage event attendees in a friendly and professional manner
- Distribute promotional materials, giveaways, and coupons
- Answer general questions and provide information to guests
- Keep promotional displays stocked and organized
- Assist with event setup and ongoing booth maintenance
- Represent Beacon Hill’s client professionally throughout the event
- Work collaboratively with onsite event staff and leadership
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Friendly, engaging, and professional demeanor
- Previous experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, restaurant, or event settings preferred
- Comfortable interacting with large groups of people
- Ability to stand for the duration of the shift
- Ability to occasionally bend and lift marketing materials and promotional items
- Reliable and punctual
Work Environment
- Outdoor event setting
- Rain or shine event
- Casual attire permitted (jeans, solid-colored top, polo, sneakers, etc.)
- Onsite support provided throughout the event

- 3:00 PM – 10:30 PM (3 openings)
Friday, October 3
- 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (3 openings)
- 5:00 PM – 10:30 PM (3 openings)
Saturday, October 4
- 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (3 openings)
- 4:00 PM – 8:30 PM (3 openings)
