IP Legal Assistant

An established national firm is seeking a legal assistant to support the intellectual property practice. This role provides administrative and legal support across areas including trademarks, copyrights, patents, intellectual property litigation, and patent prosecution.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, edit, and format legal documents, correspondence, memoranda, and other materials.
- Proofread documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, and formatting accuracy.
- Manage attorney calendars and prioritize assignments to meet critical deadlines.
- Assist with client intake and onboarding processes.
- Maintain and organize electronic and physical files and records.
- Coordinate depositions, hearings, expert witnesses, court reporters, and other legal proceedings.
- Arrange travel, conferences, and related logistics as needed.
- Track deadlines and assist with docket management and intellectual property filings.
- Provide coverage and support to other legal assistants as needed.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of legal administrative or legal assistant experience. Atleast 1 year of IP preferred.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience with docketing systems, electronic filing platforms, and deadline management is preferred.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with document management systems and legal software.
- Excellent proofreading, editing, and attention-to-detail skills.
Hybrid role after 90 days.
