A Beacon Hill client in Metuchen, NJ, is seeking an Interim Accountant/Controller to join their team. This position will support and lead our client’s NetSuite implementation and lead their day to day accounting functions. Candidates interested should be able to commute to Metuchen, NJ, 5 days a week onsite, have experience with Netsutie, and additional experience with either cost accounting, inventory accounting, and distribution accounting.
Position Summary:
- Own day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, reconciliations, and monthly close
- Lead inventory and cost accounting across multiple locations
- Partner with operations to analyze distribution, freight, and logistics costs and identify efficiency opportunities
- Serve as internal NetSuite lead supporting implementation
- Prepare monthly financial reporting, KPIs, and analysis for review
- Oversee multi-state sales tax compliance, payroll processing, and benefits administration
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes
Technical Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Experience in a Senior Accountant or Controller-level role
- NetSuite experience required
- Experience in inventory accounting, cost accounting, and multi-location operations
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
- Solid working knowledge of GAAP
- Ability to start quickly
