Position Overview

Our client is a growing manufacturer of high-quality unmanned aerial systems, driven by a commitment to innovation, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. They are looking for a hands-on Senior Accountant who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment and takes genuine ownership of financial operations.

In this role, you will oversee day-to-day accounting functions and ensure accurate financial reporting for the company’s Bingen, Washington location, while also supporting the corporate office in Virginia. It’s a great fit for someone who enjoys both the detail work of accounting and the bigger picture of process improvement – bringing financial rigor and a practical understanding of manufacturing operations to everything they do.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the full monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting. Oversee general ledger, bank transactions, accounts payable and receivable, payroll, inventory, fixed assets, and cost accounting. Prepare and post recurring and ad hoc journal entries, including accruals, prepaid expense amortization, depreciation, and inventory-related entries, along with monthly balance sheet reconciliations and fixed asset schedules.

Analyze manufacturing costs – labor, materials, and overhead – to support pricing, profitability, and margin decisions. Monitor and validate inventory balances, production variances, and material movements, and collaborate with Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering to ensure accurate COGS reporting. Assist with annual and periodic physical inventory counts and reconciliations. Maintain internal controls, uphold accounting policies and procedures, and support the annual audit process.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, along with 4-7 years of progressive accounting experience. Manufacturing or cost accounting background is a plus. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, as is proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
