Position Summary

The Laboratory Analyst supports routine analytical operations by performing standardized testing, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring accurate documentation of results. This role requires working overnight shifts on a rotating schedule and maintaining strict compliance with safety, quality, and waste management regulations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Execute routine analytical testing in accordance with approved procedures and written instructions
  • Prepare reagents and solutions, maintain clean laboratory glassware, and manage disposal of chemical and biological waste following established guidelines
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance and operational checks on laboratory instruments as outlined in procedures
  • Utilize laboratory software systems, including LIMS, chromatography data platforms, and instrument‑specific applications
  • Locate and interpret analytical methods, specifications, and standards using internal and external databases
  • Accurately document testing activities, calculations, and results in a timely manner
  • Review analytical data and system reports to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance
  • Escalate concerns related to sample quality, safety, inventory shortages, or test anomalies to laboratory leadership
  • Identify opportunities for troubleshooting, workflow improvements, and process optimization
  • Provide guidance and training to team members on waste handling procedures and hazardous waste regulations
  • Monitor inventory levels and notify appropriate personnel when materials approach reorder thresholds
  • Proactively seek additional tasks to support team productivity and laboratory throughput
  • Enter data for performance metrics, dashboards, and key performance indicators
  • Communicate analytical outcomes to internal or external stakeholders as required, with a customer‑focused approach
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and assist with updates to existing procedures
  • Follow all laboratory safety, housekeeping, and environmental compliance requirements
  • Maintain working knowledge of hazardous waste regulations and immediately report spills, leaks, or compliance concerns
