A prestigious nonprofit economic research organization in Cambridge, MA is seeking a detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support its Research Administration team. This is a full-time, 35-hour-per-week role (9am-5pm with some flexibility), currently onsite with the potential for a hybrid schedule after training (on Mondays, in-person attendance is required). The position runs through the end of the year, with a strong likelihood of extension. Pay is $25-30/hour, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support post-award grant administration, including report preparation, compliance tracking, and project deliverables
  • Coordinate meetings and events; manage invitations, agendas, and communication with participants
  • Assist with developing grant proposal materials such as budgets, bio sketches, and administrative content
  • Monitor payments, vendor bids, and hiring paperwork for researchers and assistants
  • Maintain communication with funding agencies and ensure accurate documentation for grants
  • Contribute to web content highlighting grant-funded research and outcomes

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with experience in grant, research, academic, or student services administration
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Acrobat, and data entry
  • Comfort handling confidential materials and eagerness to grow in a professional setting
