Our client, a higher education institution, is seeking a Development Assistant to support a leadership gifts team within a law school environment. This full-time opportunity is based in Boston, MA, offering $30/hour. The role is a 3‑month contract with potential for extension and supports a mission‑driven, nonprofit academic organization. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct preliminary prospect research; track solicitation activity and update contact reports
- Coordinate prospect portfolios and support major gift officers using prospecting and reporting tools
- Schedule meetings, manage calendars, and arrange travel; prepare briefing materials and prospect profiles
- Support donor visit follow‑up, including correspondence, reports, and database updates
- Process travel and expense reports
- Assist with planning and coordinating leadership‑level events
- Respond to donor and alumni inquiries as appropriate
- Serve as a liaison with administrative offices, alumni, donors, and volunteers
- Collaborate on joint travel and events across fundraising teams
- Prepare materials for presentations and distribution; support special projects as needed
Candidate Qualifications
- Polished, professional communication skills; comfort interacting with high‑profile donors and their assistants
- Experience providing administrative support, including calendar management, Zoom scheduling, travel coordination, expense processing, and materials preparation
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Tech‑savvy with experience using databases (daily use of an alumni or donor database preferred)
