Our client, a life sciences services company, is seeking an Operations Support Specialist to provide onsite administrative and operational support within a large, well-established research environment in Boston. This is a full-time contract role (up to 6 months, with strong potential for extension or conversion) supporting scientists, engineers, and lab operations teams at a major life sciences campus. The position is onsite in Boston, MA, Monday-Friday, 35-40 hours per week between 8:00/8:30am-5:00pm, and pays $30/hour. Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide onsite operational and administrative support for scientific and medical equipment within laboratory environments
  • Maintain and update equipment inventory and service records within a proprietary database/CMMS
  • Coordinate and schedule maintenance, repairs, and service events with internal teams and external vendors
  • Communicate directly with scientists, engineers, vendors, and lab operations staff to address equipment needs
  • Enter lab spaces to review equipment status, calibration schedules, and performance concerns
  • Order parts and supplies, track shipments, and coordinate installations and repairs
  • Generate reports, support KPIs, and assist with ongoing account and service reviews

Candidate Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Strong Excel skills (sorting, filtering, data review, and tracking)
  • Experience with databases, inventory management, or operations support preferred
  • Customer-focused mindset with excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working in office and laboratory settings and interacting with technical professionals
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and maintain detailed documentation
