A well‑established professional services firm in Waltham is seeking a temporary Marketing & Business Development Specialist to support firm‑wide business development initiatives during a maternity leave coverage. Reporting directly to senior marketing leadership, this role will play a key part in supporting attorneys with strategic BD planning, research, metrics, and execution.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing multiple initiatives at once while partnering closely with senior professionals. This is a hands‑on role within a small, high‑performing team. This role compensates in the mid-to-high $30s/hr and is slated to run from May 2026-January 2027.
Responsibilities
- Support the firm’s business development intake process for new hires and laterals
- Partner with attorneys to develop and track annual business plans, including follow‑up and metrics
- Assist with BD initiatives such as events, sponsorships, and memberships
- Conduct client, prospect, and industry research independently
- Identify and help drive client and prospect engagement opportunities
- Create and analyze BD metrics to support targeting and planning efforts
- Support marketing events with pre‑ and post‑event research and follow‑up
- Prepare and submit firm data for rankings and publications
- Maintain BD activity and transactional tracking within the firm’s CRM
Required Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of experience in a law firm or professional services environment
- Strong project management, follow‑through, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating cross‑functionally
- Polished written and verbal communication
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to build rapport and work effectively with attorneys and staff
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (especially InDesign) and Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
- CRM experience
- Social media familiarity
- Experience with pitch/RFP research, preparation, tracking, and reporting
