Responsibilities

  • Lead accurate and timely payroll processing for U.S. and international employee populations across multiple legal entities and countries.
  • Oversee payroll approvals, funding, tax compliance, reconciliations, and payroll issue resolution.
  • Manage payroll operations involving various currencies, pay frequencies, and employee groups.
  • Review payroll processing for approximately 500 employees and provide backup support when necessary.
  • Partner closely with HR, Benefits, Finance, Treasury, Tax, Legal, and IT teams to ensure payroll accuracy and process efficiency.
  • Support onboarding, benefits administration, deductions, employer contributions, and retirement plan payroll activities.
  • Maintain strong payroll controls, approval workflows, policies, and procedures while ensuring compliance with all applicable regulations.
  • Oversee payroll accounting activities including journal entries, accruals, account reconciliations, intercompany allocations, and month-end support.
  • Lead payroll-related initiatives associated with acquisitions, new entities, and system implementations.
  • Manage third-party payroll vendors and drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on automation, scalability, and accuracy.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex payroll matters.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop a Payroll Specialist while promoting accountability and service excellence.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of payroll experience, including payroll processing and management responsibilities.
  • 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Experience managing payroll within a multi-entity or multi-subsidiary organization.
  • Global payroll experience, including coordination with international payroll providers.
  • Strong understanding of payroll compliance, payroll accounting, reconciliations, and controls.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
  • Experience supporting payroll integrations, system implementations, acquisitions, or organizational growth initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with UK payroll (preferred).
  • Benefits administration knowledge (preferred).
  • Exposure to payroll operations in Canada and Mexico (preferred).
