Position Overview

The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing all core accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and managing the accounting team. This role supports both operational and capital-related accounting activities, partners closely with internal stakeholders, and plays a key role in budgeting, forecasting, audit management, and process oversight.

The position requires a strong background in accounting operations, financial reporting, and team leadership within a complex, multi-tenant or property-based environment.


Key Responsibilities

Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting

  • Oversee all accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, cash receipts, cash disbursements, and tenant/customer billing
  • Maintain general ledger and accounting records
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and related reports
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal accounting policies
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls across all accounting applications and cash processes

Team Leadership & Oversight

  • Supervise, mentor, and review the work of accounting staff
  • Approve invoices and payments within the accounting system
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of close activities and reporting deadlines

Budgeting, Forecasting & Capital Accounting

  • Prepare operating and capital budgets, including financial projections and reforecasts
  • Manage capital budgeting, capital requisitions, and capital reporting
  • Participate in periodic cash flow projection and financial planning discussions with internal partners

Audit, Compliance & Risk

  • Coordinate and oversee the annual financial audit, including preparation of schedules and audit support
  • Assist with financial compliance reporting related to partner or stakeholder programs
  • Coordinate with risk management resources as needed

Education & Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibility
