Senior Financial Planner
We’re seeking an experienced Financial Planning professional to join a centralized planning team that serves as an internal shared resource for client‑facing advisors. This role is not a sales position, but it does require the ability to build credibility, influence internally, and present confidently to both advisors and clients.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys consulting, plan construction, and presenting insights-while partnering closely with advisors to support complex planning needs.
Overview
This role sits within a centralized planning function that educates and supports advisors by delivering high‑quality financial and estate planning solutions for their clients. The team engages on new client onboarding, changes in financial scope, major life events, liquidity events, and evolving client goals.
You will collaborate closely with advisors, help design and present financial plans, and act as an internal subject‑matter expert across financial planning disciplines.
Responsibilities
- Partner with advisors to design, review, and refine customized financial plans
- Build and update goal‑based financial plans for clients with varying levels of complexity
- Present financial plans to advisors and directly to clients, both virtually and live
- Consult with advisors on appropriate planning strategies based on client goals and circumstances
- Serve as an internal planning expert, supporting advisors and collaborating with other specialists
- Provide guidance and troubleshooting related to financial planning technology and tools
- Stay current on financial planning trends, research, and best practices
- Establish referral pathways to other wealth management specialists as appropriate
- Participate in training, education, and occasional internal presentations
- Support additional planning initiatives and projects as needed
Skillset
- Financial Planning Expertise: Strong command of planning concepts and the ability to translate client data into actionable, goal‑based plans
- Presentation & Communication: Comfortable presenting complex ideas clearly to both advisors and clients
- Advisor Partnership: Builds trust quickly and operates as a collaborative, consultative partner
- Technology‑Enabled Planning: Confident using financial planning software; experience with industry‑standard platforms strongly preferred
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation required
- 5+ years of professional financial planning experience
- FINRA Series 7 and 66 (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe)
- Experience working with advisors and client‑facing teams
- Strong analytical and critical‑thinking skills
- High ethical standards and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills
