In a Nutshell: Property Accountant is responsible for leading the full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for a property management portfolio regulated by state and local funding sources. This role delivers timely, accurate financial statements, performs variance analysis, and provides performance insights for leadership. This can be a remote role but the contractor will be required to travel to the client’s office for a monthly meeting.
Duties to include but no limited to:
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations within established deadlines
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supporting schedules, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Analyze financial reports, including budget to actual variances, and provide clear explanations
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams in annual budget preparation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of accounting experience in property management
- Experience with Yardi property management software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Able to work indepently in a remote capacity
