About the Opportunity
A leading real estate private equity firm is seeking a Tax Associate to join its Boston office. This role will report directly to senior tax leadership and offers broad exposure across property- and fund-level tax matters within a dynamic investment platform.
The position involves working closely with internal teams and external advisors on tax compliance, reporting, and structuring across a range of real estate investments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support federal, state, and local tax compliance across property- and fund-level entities
- Coordinate with property accountants and joint venture partners on tax filings and related requirements
- Assist with preparation and review of tax workpapers, allocations, projections, and estimates
- Partner with external tax advisors on compliance and reporting matters
- Monitor tax deadlines and ensure timely filings and payments
- Assist with REIT compliance and quarterly/year-end testing
- Support tax-related aspects of transactions and internal initiatives
- Contribute to ASC 740 analysis for corporate entities
- Help manage budgets, billings, and engagement coordination with external advisors
- Support investor-related tax inquiries in partnership with internal teams
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and CPA required
- 2+ years of relevant experience, ideally within partnership tax in investment management or real estate
- Strong Excel skills
- Solid analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Detail-oriented with a proactive, self-motivated approach
Compensation
- Base salary up to $115,000, depending on experience
- In addition to base compensation, the role includes a bonus; overall compensation will depend on experience
Additional Information
- This is a full-time, in-office role based in Boston
- Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
