Accounts Payable Specialist – Virginia Beach, VA

Overview
Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a client in Virginia Beach, VA in their search for an Accounts Payable Specialist. This role supports the full-cycle AP process in a high-volume, timeline-driven environment with a largely manual workflow. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities

• Process a high volume of invoices accurately and timely, ensuring proper coding and approvals.

• Match purchase orders and invoices; research and resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal teams.

• Prepare weekly check runs, ACH, and wire payments; maintain vendor files and W-9 documentation.

• Reconcile vendor statements and assist with month-end close activities, including accruals and AP aging review.

• Track expenses and ensure accurate cost allocation.

• Support audits and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.

Qualifications

• Strong Excel skills required, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with manual AP processes.

• Experience with NetSuite preferred; familiarity with RAMP or similar payment systems is a plus.

• Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
