Contract & Procurement Specialist

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Contract & Procurement Specialist to support procurement, contracting, and contract administration activities within a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. This role will assist in the full procurement lifecycle, from acquisition planning and solicitation support through contract administration and closeout. The ideal candidate will possess strong contract management experience, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support end-to-end procurement and contracting activities, including acquisition planning, statement of work reviews, proposal evaluations, and contract documentation.
  • Assist with solicitation activities, including coordinating vendor communications, managing questions and answers, and tracking responses to requests for information (RFIs).
  • Prepare purchase orders and support procurements in accordance with established procurement policies and procedures.
  • Administer contracts and agreements, including modifications, amendments, compliance documentation, and contract tracking.
  • Maintain accurate contract files and ensure all procurement documentation is properly organized and retained.
  • Process invoices, monitor contract expenditures, and support contract closeout activities.
  • Track contract milestones, renewal periods, option years, and performance requirements.
  • Support database management, reporting requirements, and procurement-related data entry.
  • Assist with procurement reviews, compliance monitoring, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with operational, technical, and financial teams to support procurement objectives and contract execution.
  • Interpret procurement requirements and assist in developing effective acquisition strategies.
  • Perform additional procurement and contract administration duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Public Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of procurement, purchasing, contract administration, or contracting experience.
  • Experience supporting pre-award, award, and post-award contract activities.
  • Strong understanding of procurement regulations, policies, and contract management principles.
  • Experience reviewing statements of work, contract documentation, and procurement requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple contracts and competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and procurement or financial systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across multiple departments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within government, defense, international organizations, or other highly regulated procurement environments.
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management systems, procurement databases, or ERP platforms.
  • Knowledge of acquisition planning, competitive solicitations, and contract compliance requirements.
  • Professional certification in contracting, procurement, or purchasing preferred.
  • Experience supporting large-scale projects, events, programs, or complex procurement initiatives.
