Position Summary

A mission-driven organization is seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Lending Analyst to support business finance and lending operations. This role focuses on loan underwriting, financial analysis, borrower engagement, and ongoing portfolio monitoring.

The individual will play a key role in evaluating loan applications, tracking financial performance, supporting decision-making processes, and contributing to initiatives that drive economic growth and organizational impact. This position collaborates closely with leadership and internal stakeholders to deliver data-driven insights and maintain strong relationships with external partners.


Key Responsibilities

  • Underwrite loan applications, including financial analysis and risk assessment
  • Review and evaluate financial statements for prospective and existing borrowers
  • Prepare loan packages and present recommendations to internal review committees
  • Monitor loan performance and analyze portfolio trends and borrower financial health
  • Conduct variance analysis, including trial balance reviews, and report findings to leadership
  • Manage the full loan lifecycle, including onboarding, servicing, and payoff processes
  • Conduct discovery calls with applicants and maintain ongoing borrower communication
  • Build and maintain relationships with borrowers, stakeholders, and partners
  • Track financial performance using tax returns and other financial documentation
  • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
  • Prepare loan documentation, including closing documents and payoff statements
  • Support debt recovery efforts and documentation as needed
  • Draft internal reports, presentations, and meeting materials
  • Assist with special projects, process improvements, and new program initiatives
  • Support achievement of annual financial and operational goals

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, forecasting, or related functions
  • Strong Excel skills, including data analysis and financial modeling
  • Knowledge of financial reporting and analytical tools
  • Familiarity with governmental or public-sector accounting principles
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
