Accounting Manager
Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to provide strategic accounting leadership and technical expertise during a critical audit and financial reporting period. This individual will partner closely with finance leadership to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting while supporting key audit, compliance, and process improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the organization through annual audit activities and assist in resolving audit-related issues.
- Review accounting workpapers, reconciliations, schedules, and supporting documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Prepare and review financial statements, footnotes, disclosures, and other financial reporting packages.
- Analyze financial results and provide recommendations related to reporting accuracy, accounting treatment, and operational effectiveness.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and assist with cleanup efforts, documentation improvements, and process enhancements.
- Serve as a technical accounting resource for complex accounting transactions and reporting matters.
- Partner with finance leadership to identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls.
- Support the preparation and review of nonprofit tax filings and related regulatory reporting requirements.
- Research accounting guidance and provide recommendations regarding financial reporting and compliance matters.
- Assist with special projects and other accounting initiatives as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Strong background in financial reporting, financial statement preparation, and audit support.
- Experience preparing and reviewing financial statement footnotes and disclosures.
- Advanced knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate accounting records, identify discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions.
- Experience reviewing accounting work and advising leadership on accounting processes and reporting matters.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
