Our client in the Addison area is seeking a Fixed Asset Accountant to join their team on a contract to hire basis.
Responsibilities include:

Set up and manage Capital, Expense, and R&D projects in the ERP system

Ensure proper cost classification, budget alignment, and compliance with capitalization policies
-
Track project expenditures and perform actual vs. budget variance analysis

Reconcile project costs to the general ledger monthly
-
Prepare and post month-end and year-end close entries, including accruals, reclassifications, asset retirements, and adjustments
-
Partner with Project Managers, FP&A, and Finance to support budgeting, forecasting, annual planning, and reforecast cycles

Enforce capital project accounting policies and approve or escalate capitalization and cost reclassification decisions
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance
-
5+ years of experience in project accounting, fixed asset accounting, or capital project financial management
-
Hands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar)
-
Advanced Excel skills
