Job: Staff Accountant

Location: Norman, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Temporary/Contract to Hire (with potential for extension or conversion)
Pay Range: $25-$35/hour, depending on experience and skill

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Staff Accountant to support one of our clients’ growing operations.

This role will be responsible for managing accounts receivable and payable functions, job costing, bank reconciliations, and supporting overall financial accuracy. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and able to work collaboratively across teams.

This is a full-time, on-site position with a standard Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable, including invoicing and payment processing
  • Bill invoices to water transfer companies based on bid pricing and monthly activity
  • Maintain daily job cost tracking using Excel for field operations
  • Perform bank reconciliations across multiple affiliated companies
  • Reconcile AR accounts and prepare reports for upper management on a bi-monthly basis
  • Provide backup support for mail processing and accounts payable functions
  • Process payments and ensure accurate balancing of monthly statements
  • Coordinate setup of utilities and onboarding of new leased properties
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams regarding updates and financial processes
  • Maintain office supply inventory and manage safety equipment and uniforms

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, AR/AP, or similar roles
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Word, and Excel. Prior working experience in Microsoft Dynamics a major plus
