Litigation Docketing Specialist (Remote)

About the Opportunity

A national law firm is seeking a detail-oriented Litigation Calendar & Docketing Specialist to join its litigation support team. This fully remote position supports attorneys and legal professionals across multiple offices and practice groups. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience managing litigation deadlines, maintaining docketing records, and navigating state and federal court systems.

This role is well-suited for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with procedural rules, and possesses exceptional organizational and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update litigation deadlines, hearings, filings, and related case events within the organization’s docketing and calendaring platforms.
  • Review court notices, pleadings, and case documents to identify and calculate applicable deadlines.
  • Generate reports, deadline summaries, and case status information for legal teams upon request.
  • Monitor court dockets, filings, and case developments through electronic court systems and research databases.
  • Respond promptly to questions regarding filing deadlines, court procedures, and calendar events.
  • Coordinate and assist with service of legal documents when required.
  • Prepare and submit electronic filings in state, federal, and appellate courts.
  • Verify accuracy of docket entries and ensure compliance with applicable court rules and procedural requirements.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and administrative professionals to support litigation matters.
  • Participate in special projects and other responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

  • Three or more years of litigation docketing, calendaring, or court filing experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of litigation procedures, court deadlines, and rules-based calendaring practices.
  • Experience working with legal docketing and calendar management software. – Milana, eDockets, etc.
  • Familiarity with electronic court filing systems, case management tools, and online docket research resources.
  • Knowledge of state and federal court procedures, including filing requirements and document management practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to workload management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a distributed team.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours when business needs require.
  • Ability to navigate complex procedural requirements with precision.
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership.
  • Excellent judgment when prioritizing competing deadlines.
  • Commitment to providing responsive, high-quality support to legal professionals.
  • Adaptability and confidence working in a deadline-driven environment.
