Litigation Paralegal – Mass Tort & Complex Litigation
Location: Chicago

About the Opportunity
A growing litigation practice is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to support attorneys handling complex mass tort and high-volume civil litigation matters. This position offers the opportunity to play a key role in all stages of case development, working closely with attorneys, clients, experts, and outside parties to help advance significant matters from intake through resolution.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, can effectively manage competing priorities, and has experience maintaining large volumes of case information while ensuring accuracy and compliance with litigation deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Support attorneys throughout all phases of litigation, including investigation, discovery, case management, settlement, and trial preparation.
- Maintain and organize a high-volume caseload while ensuring records and case files remain accurate and current.
- Draft, review, and prepare litigation documents, correspondence, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and notices.
- Coordinate the collection, organization, and tracking of case-related records and supporting documentation.
- Monitor court deadlines, scheduling orders, filing requirements, hearings, depositions, and other critical dates.
- Prepare case summaries, chronologies, damages materials, and other litigation support documents.
- Assist with deposition, mediation, and trial preparation, including exhibit organization and document management.
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding case updates, outstanding documentation, and next steps.
- Coordinate with experts, medical providers, vendors, co-counsel, and other third parties as needed.
- Maintain data integrity within case management and document management systems.
- Participate in reporting, quality control initiatives, and special projects involving large groups of cases.
- Collaborate with attorneys and legal support professionals to ensure matters progress efficiently.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of litigation paralegal experience.
- Experience supporting complex civil litigation matters.
- Strong understanding of litigation procedures, discovery processes, and court filing requirements.
- Proven ability to manage multiple active matters simultaneously.
- Experience reviewing, organizing, and maintaining large volumes of records and documents.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal technology platforms.
Preferred Experience
