Beacon Hill Legal is partnering with a growing commercial real estate company in Chicago to hire a Corporate Counsel to report directly to the General Counsel. This is a high-visibility, second-chair role supporting acquisitions, development, financing, and portfolio management across a diverse asset base.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and support acquisitions and dispositions, including negotiation of purchase and sale agreements, oversight of diligence, and coordination with outside counsel

• Handle construction and permanent financing, joint ventures, and investor transactions, including loan documentation and compliance matters

• Assist with ownership structuring and governance, including drafting operating and partnership agreements

• Oversee litigation and pre-litigation matters in coordination with outside counsel and manage enterprise risk

• Negotiate operational agreements, including property management, construction, vendor, consultant, and technology contracts

• Improve legal operations through template creation, systems implementation, and process optimization

Qualifications:

• 4-7+ years of experience

• Strong background in acquisitions and financing; development experience is a significant plus

• Litigation exposure is helpful but not required

• Business-oriented mindset with strong financial literacy and commercial judgment

• Confident communicator comfortable working directly with executives and stakeholders at all levels
