Litigation Paralegal

A well-established law firm is seeking a Litigation Paralegal to join their Chicago office. This is a full-time opportunity supporting attorneys in all phases of complex litigation while working closely with partners and associates on high-profile matters.

This position is onsite 3 days per week; however, candidates should expect to be onsite 5 days per week during their first month of employment and during particularly busy trial periods. The salary range for this position is $85k-$110k, commensurate with experience. The firm offers healthcare, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) and profit-sharing plan, a monthly transportation allowance, overtime eligibility, and additional benefits.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in a large law firm environment, along with substantial trial experience and the ability to independently manage complex litigation matters in a fast-paced setting.

Skills required and Job Duties include the following:

Job Duties:

  • Organize documents and coordinate document productions in litigation matters
  • Prepare, review, and file court documents in federal and state courts
  • Conduct document searches, legal research, and fact investigations
  • Obtain records, documents, and certificates from courts and government agencies
  • Prepare witness materials, deposition exhibits, and case-related documentation
  • Coordinate depositions and assist with deposition preparation
  • Manage trial preparation, trial logistics, and courtroom support
  • Attend trials and assist attorneys with exhibits, notes, and case materials
  • Serve as a liaison between attorneys, internal departments, and outside vendors
  • Coordinate with document production vendors, translation services, and trial graphics providers
  • Assist with cite-checking and ensuring accuracy of legal filings and submissions
  • Support the preparation of client-facing and marketing materials as needed

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of litigation paralegal experience
  • Prior large law firm experience preferred
  • Significant trial experience required
  • Strong cite-checking experience required
  • Proficiency with Relativity, PACER, TextMap, Microsoft Office, and federal and state e-filing systems
  • Familiarity with Bluebook citation standards
  • Exceptional organizational, administrative, and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Ability to work overtime as needed and travel for trial support
  • Team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic and professional maturity
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
