A Boston-based technology company is seeking a Patent / IP Counsel to support a growing intellectual property function in a highly collaborative, product-driven environment.
This is a hands-on role working closely with engineering and product teams on patent strategy, invention capture, and portfolio development across innovative hardware and software technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with engineers and product teams to identify and develop patentable innovations
- Support patent portfolio strategy and oversee prosecution through outside counsel
- Assist with freedom-to-operate (FTO) and IP risk assessments
- Contribute to building internal IP processes and best practices
Qualifications
- 5+ years of patent prosecution experience
- J.D. from accredited law school
- USPTO registration required
- Technical background in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field preferred
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with technical teams
