A nationally recognized AmLaw 100 law firm is seeking a mid-level Trademark/Copyright Associate (2-5 years) to join its growing Branding and Intellectual Property practice. The position can be based in Chicago, but also open to other cities the firm has an office in. This team works closely with companies to develop, protect, and manage valuable brand portfolios across a wide range of industries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting U.S. trademark clearance searches and advising clients on risk and strategy

• Managing domestic trademark prosecution and portfolio maintenance

• Handling matters before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB)

• Advising clients on copyright issues and brand protection strategies

• Assisting with trademark-related disputes and litigation

• Supporting trademark licensing, acquisition, and related commercial agreements

Qualifications:

• 2-5 years of experience in trademark clearance, prosecution, and portfolio management

• Experience with TTAB proceedings and trademark-related disputes

• Copyright counseling experience preferred

• International trademark prosecution and licensing experience is a plus

• Strong academic credentials and excellent writing and communication skills

• JD and active bar admission in the jurisdiction where the candidate intends to practice

Compensation:

• Salary range: $220,000 – $390,000, depending on class year and experience

• Hybrid in-office policy
