About the Role
A mission driven nonprofit focused on serving vulnerable communities is seeking a Staff Accountant who is eager to learn, grow, and take on a wide range of responsibilities. This role supports grant funded programs, property related accounting, and financial reporting in a very hands on environment.
What You Will Do
- Manage reporting tied to government funded programs
- Support property accounting, including asset tracking and depreciation schedules
- Handle Excel heavy tasks: pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data pulls, reconciliations, and balancing multiple datasets
- Assist with forward looking financial modeling and month to month analysis
- Work closely with the Accounting Manager and a small collaborative team
- Participate in audits and help prepare documentation for external auditors
- Contribute to ERP improvements and automation initiatives
- Step into various accounting tasks as needed, including billing, reporting, and reconciliations
What We Are Looking For
- 2+ years of GL accounting experience
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data management)
- Experience with financial reporting and handling multiple data sources
- ERP experience preferred
- Adaptable, teachable, and comfortable in a fast paced, mission driven environment
