Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Legal Billing Specialist to support its accounting and finance operations. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant client invoicing while partnering closely with attorneys and legal support staff. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, knowledge of legal billing guidelines, and the ability to manage billing processes in a fast-paced professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and process client invoices in accordance with firm billing guidelines and client requirements
- Maintain accurate billing records, rates, time entries, and adjustments in the billing system
- Coordinate with attorneys and support staff to resolve discrepancies, missing time entries, write-offs, or billing edits
- Submit electronic invoices through e-billing platforms and track approvals, rejections, and resubmissions
- Monitor accounts for billing status and follow up on outstanding items to ensure timely and accurate billing
Job Requirements
- 1-2+ years of billing experience within a law firm or professional services organization
- Familiarity with legal billing guidelines and e-billing platforms highly preferred
- Experience using legal billing software and strong Excel skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
