A highly respected construction company is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, employee-focused organization experiencing significant growth.
The Accounting Manager will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, lead a small accounting team, and play a key role in supporting the company’s continued growth. This position is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment and enjoys balancing both strategic and operational responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage the month-end and year-end close process
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and compliance functions
- Review subcontractor billings, job cost reporting, and contract accounting activities
- Ensure compliance with union payroll and labor compliance requirements
- Support financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit requests
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff
- Partner with operations and project management teams to support business objectives
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability
Qualifications
- 5+ years of construction accounting experience
- Experience working for a General Contractor (GC) is required
- Strong understanding of month-end close, job costing, subcontractor billing, and compliance
- Knowledge of labor compliance and union payroll requirements
- Experience managing AP, AR, payroll, and accounting operations
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to support daily transactional activities when needed
- Experience with Vista by Viewpoint is required
