Location: Hybrid Lancaster, PA (2 days/week on site)
We are seeking an experienced IBM i / RPG Developer to support and enhance core business applications running on the IBM i (AS/400) platform. This role focuses on RPG development, system modernization, and ongoing support of mission-critical applications. The ideal candidate has strong hands-on experience with RPG, DB2 for i, and IBM i system concepts, and is comfortable working in stable, long-lived enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, enhance, and maintain applications on the IBM i (AS/400) platform
* Develop and modify programs using RPG III, RPG IV, and ILE RPG
* Work with DB2 for i to create and maintain physical files, logical files, SQL queries, views, and stored procedures
* Support existing legacy applications and participate in modernization initiatives
* Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
* Perform unit testing, debugging, and performance tuning of RPG applications
* Collaborate with business users, analysts, and other developers to resolve issues and implement enhancements
* Support batch processing, scheduled jobs, and system interfaces
* Maintain technical documentation and follow change management processes
* Provide production support and troubleshoot application issues as needed
Required
* 3+ years of experience developing on the IBM i (AS/400) platform
* Strong experience with RPG IV / ILE RPG
* Solid knowledge of DB2 for i, including embedded SQL
* Familiarity with IBM i concepts such as libraries, subsystems, job queues, and message handling
* Experience supporting and enhancing legacy applications
