Location: Hybrid Wayne, PA – 2-3 days/week on site in Wayne, PA, 2-3 days remote
The Technical Business Analyst will work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and technical teams to support healthcare data initiatives involving ETL pipelines, SQL-based reporting, and data integrations. This role focuses on translating healthcare business requirements into technical specifications, supporting data analysis, validating data outputs, and ensuring data integrity across systems related to claims, eligibility, encounters, providers, and members.
Key Responsibilities
- Elicit, analyze, and document business and technical requirements related to healthcare data, reporting, and integrations
- Serve as a liaison between business users, data engineering, and IT teams to ensure accurate implementation of data solutions
- Analyze healthcare data sets including claims, eligibility, enrollment, provider, clinical, and financial data
- Write and optimize SQL queries for data analysis, validation, reconciliation, and reporting
- Support ETL processes by defining source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, and data quality checks
- Review and validate ETL outputs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with business rules
- Create and maintain functional and technical documentation, including data dictionaries, process flows, and mapping documents
- Support data quality, audit, and reconciliation activities across multiple healthcare systems
- Participate in UAT planning and execution, including test case creation and defect tracking
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify data gaps, root causes, and opportunities for improvement
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and data standards (HIPAA, X12, HL7 where applicable)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, Healthcare, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst in a data-driven environment
- Strong healthcare payer domain experience
- Strong SQL skills, including complex joins, subqueries, aggregations, and data validation queries
- Hands-on experience supporting or documenting ETL processes and data integrations
- Experience working with large, complex datasets in a healthcare environment
- Strong requirements gathering and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
