Managed Services Engineer – Fully Remote (EST) – $110K-$130K + Bonus

An established, privately held IT services firm is looking for a Managed Services Engineer to join a growing team. This role sits within a co‑delivery managed services model, where engineers act as trusted technical advisors and work closely with client IT teams. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys deep technical ownership, client-facing work, and helping scale a high‑performing managed services practice.

Your background:

  • Strong hands-on experience in a Managed Services / MSP or enterprise IT environment
  • Deep experience with:
    • Cisco Nexus switching (troubleshooting, firmware upgrades)
    • Palo Alto 3000‑series firewalls
    • Microsoft 365 & Azure, including Azure networking and Microsoft Entra ID
    • Enterprise backup solutions (e.g., Commvault, Beam, or similar)
  • Broad infrastructure experience across:
    • VMware vSphere / ESXi and Hyper‑V
    • Dell and HPE server platforms
    • SAN / NAS storage (Compellent, EqualLogic, PowerVault, Isilon, Nexsan)
    • Disaster recovery and data protection tools (Veeam, Datto, Rubrik)
  • Comfortable with Linux administration and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools (syslog, SNMP)
  • Strong, customer‑facing communication skills
  • Open to candidates with ~6+ years of experience
  • Must be located in the Eastern Time Zone (U.S.)

The work you’ll be doing:

  • Owning technical delivery for managed services customers in a co‑delivery model
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to client IT teams rather than a ticket-only engineer
  • Supporting ~50 active customer environments across industries such as finance, healthcare, education, manufacturing, public sector, and technology
  • Handling:
    • Infrastructure troubleshooting and escalations
    • Firewall and network changes
    • Backup, DR, and recovery scenarios
    • Microsoft 365, Azure, and identity-related work
  • Participating in monthly customer meetings, roadmap discussions, and proactive planning
  • Taking full ownership of tickets, projects, and monitoring within assigned accounts
  • Collaborating closely with PMs, schedulers, and fellow engineers to deliver consistently high customer experience

In exchange for your hard work you’ll receive:

  • Competitive salary
  • Performance-based bonus, paid quarterly
  • Comprehensive health and benefits package
  • Fully remote work environment with Eastern Time hours
