Healthcare Data Business Systems Analyst

Location: Hybrid Malvern, PA (2-3 days/week on site)
We are seeking a Senior Data Business Analyst with strong techno-functional experience in the healthcare payer domain. This role will focus on data analysis, source-to-target mapping, and requirements development across complex datasets including claims, membership, provider, and clinical data.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop functional specifications, source-to-target mappings, and other core documentation
- Perform advanced SQL-based data analysis, profiling, and validation
- Analyze and validate healthcare payer data (claims, membership, provider, clinical)
- Support data ingestion and integration processes across enterprise data platforms
- Partner with business, data governance, and technical teams to resolve data quality issues
- Translate business needs into clear technical requirements and vice versa
- Participate in estimation, scope definition, and SDLC activities across Agile/Scrum environments
- Support change management processes and help drive project delivery
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of healthcare payer experience (claims, membership, provider, etc.) in a techno-functional role
- Strong expertise in SQL for data analysis, profiling, and validation
- Experience creating source-to-target mappings and functional specifications
- Deep understanding of healthcare data flows, EDI transactions, and payer systems (e.g., FACETS or similar)
- Experience with data governance, data quality frameworks, and PII/HIPAA compliance
- Strong knowledge of ETL processes and data integration from a BSA perspective
- Experience working across SDLC methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall)
- Ability to work with business stakeholders and manage competing priorities
