Broadcast RF Engineer

We are seeking a Broadcast RF Engineer to support the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of radio and television transmission facilities. This role is responsible for ensuring reliable broadcast operations across multiple transmitter sites through preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, system monitoring, and technical support.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with RF transmission systems, broadcast equipment, transmitters, antennas, generators, HVAC systems, or related electronic and communications infrastructure. This position requires a hands-on technician who is comfortable working both independently and as part of a team in a field-based environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of broadcast transmission equipment.
  • Monitor and support radio and television transmission systems to ensure reliable operation.
  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and system integrations.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues involving RF systems, transmitters, antennas, audio transport systems, networking equipment, generators, and related infrastructure.
  • Maintain technical documentation, logs, and maintenance records.
  • Support multiple transmitter facilities and travel between sites as needed.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and respond to emergency outages when required.
  • Ensure compliance with FCC regulations and company operating standards.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with broadcast, RF, telecommunications, electronics, microwave, wireless, or related technical systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and manuals.
  • Knowledge of transmitters, RF systems, generators, HVAC systems, networking, or communications equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between facilities.
  • Associate degree in Electronics, Communications, Broadcast Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting radio, television, wireless, microwave, public safety, cellular, satellite, or broadcast communication systems.
  • Familiarity with transmitter maintenance and RF testing equipment.
  • Knowledge of IP networking and remote monitoring systems.
  • SBE certification or similar technical certifications are a plus.
