Location: Remote EST

Duration: 6+ month contract – very likely to extend

This individual will partner closely with scientists, medicinal chemists, research teams, and business stakeholders to gather requirements, document complex research processes, and drive data-focused solutions within a dynamic drug discovery environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate requirements gathering, workshops, and gap analysis sessions with scientists, chemists, and research stakeholders.
  • Translate complex scientific and research workflows into clear business, functional, and technical requirements.
  • Create and maintain process maps, user stories, business requirements documents, and supporting project documentation.
  • Utilize Jira to manage requirements, track work items, support Agile delivery processes, and maintain project visibility.
  • Support initiatives involving preclinical research data, including in vitro, animal study, PK/PD, and toxicology datasets.
  • Partner with IT, data, and business teams to ensure successful implementation and adoption of solutions.
  • Manage stakeholder communications across cross-functional scientific and technical teams.

Required

  • 8+ years of Business Analyst experience.
  • Demonstrated experience gathering requirements, conducting gap analysis, process mapping, and documentation.
  • Experience working within Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Pharmaceutical, Drug Discovery, or Research organizations.
  • Strong understanding of chemistry concepts and experience partnering directly with medicinal chemists, chemists, or therapeutic discovery research teams.
  • Experience supporting preclinical research environments and scientific data initiatives.
  • Understanding of:
    • In Vitro Research Data
    • Animal Study Data
    • PK/PD (Pharmacokinetic/Pharmacodynamic) Data
    • Safety and Toxicology Data
    • Non-GxP / Non-Regulated Research Environments
  • Hands-on experience using Jira for requirements management, user story creation, backlog management, and workflow tracking.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively across scientific, business, and technical teams.
