Our client in Wayne is seeking an Accountant on a temp to perm basis:

Responsibilities

  • Lead audit activities, coordinate with internal and external auditors, and present financial updates to leadership groups.

  • Support annual budget development, monitor spending and revenue trends, and help maintain long‑term financial plans for capital needs.

  • Prepare financial statements and reports, analyze historical and operational data, and provide financial insights to management and committees.

  • Maintain compliance with accounting standards, review system outputs for accuracy, and uphold internal control practices.

  • Evaluate and improve accounting processes, document procedures, and support operational efficiency initiatives.

  • Oversee the structure and workflow of the accounting function, train volunteers when needed, supervise staff, and assist with complex issues.

  • Manage payroll processing, review payroll changes, post related entries, handle retirement contributions, and prepare payroll‑related reports.

  • Handle benefit‑related billing, broker communications, attendance system administration, and HR‑related coordination with leadership.

  • Execute investment transactions, process tax filings and 1099s, manage unclaimed property submissions, and administer credit card accounts and reconciliations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • 2+ years of experience in a mid‑sized organization or comparable leadership environment.

  • Background in nonprofit or fund‑based accounting preferred.

  • CPA or CMA credential is a plus.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to support organizational needs.

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and support staff or volunteers.

  • Experience with financial oversight, budgeting, and organizational development.

  • Working knowledge of communications and human resources functions.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.

  • Experience working in diverse or multicultural environments preferred.
