Our client in Pittsburgh is seeking an Accounting System Analyst on a contract basis:
Key Responsibilities

Maintain and reconcile accounting data across IBOR/ABOR systems, ensuring accuracy of trade, cash, and asset positions.

Support daily settlement operations for institutional accounts, including equities, fixed income, and other investment instruments.

Investigate and resolve system breaks, discrepancies, and exceptions between accounting and custody platforms.

Collaborate with brokers, custodians, and internal accounting teams to ensure timely and accurate transaction processing.

Develop and maintain documentation for accounting workflows, system updates, and reconciliation procedures.

Perform data analysis using Python, SQL, and Excel to identify trends, automate reporting, and improve data accuracy.

Support system upgrades, testing, and implementation of new accounting modules or integrations.

Prepare daily and monthly reports summarizing reconciliation results, settlement activity, and system performance metrics.

Partner with IT and Finance to optimize accounting system configurations and reporting tools.

Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and data governance standards.
Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or related field.

2-4 years of experience in accounting operations, investment operations, or financial systems analysis.

Proficiency in SQL, Python, and Excel for data analysis and reconciliation automation.

Experience with IBOR/ABOR systems, trade settlement, and custody operations preferred.

Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting processes.

Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
-
Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Preferred Systems
-
Eagle, CMS, Workday Financials, Oracle, SAP, or similar accounting platforms.

Familiarity with trade life cycle management and investment accounting workflows.
