Business Analyst – Investment Operations

Contract / Project-Based Opportunity

We are seeking a Business Analyst for a project-based opportunity within the financial services industry. This role will support initiatives involving financial reporting, data reconciliation, file extracts, requirements documentation, testing, and process improvement.

The ideal candidate combines a strong accounting or finance background with analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage finance and operations projects from requirements gathering through implementation, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and within scope.
• Develop custom reports and perform financial data reconciliations and file extract projects.
• Gather and document business and functional requirements and translate them into clear technical specifications.
• Analyze financial and operational processes and recommend solutions that improve efficiency, accuracy, and risk controls.
• Partner with business, product, technology, and other stakeholders to establish priorities and move projects forward.
• Develop UAT and acceptance test cases and perform testing to ensure solutions meet business requirements.
• Identify data discrepancies, research issues, and assist in developing appropriate solutions.
• Provide guidance and training on new processes, tools, and solutions to support successful implementation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in accounting, finance, business analysis, or financial operations.
• Ability to read, understand, and provide input on financial statements and financial reporting.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with tools such as SQL, Access, SharePoint, Dynamics, or Copilot is beneficial.
• Experience within investment management, wealth management, financial services, investment processing, or a data/technology-driven environment is a plus.
• Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to gather requirements, manage projects, and work effectively across multiple business functions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Quick learner with a curious, innovative, and solutions-oriented approach.
