Job Title: Junior Staff Accountant
Location: Philadelphia, PA (Hybrid)
Compensation: Up to $65,000 + benefits
Type: Contract-to-Hire
Overview
Growing insurance agency in Philadelphia is looking to add a Junior Staff Accountant to the team. This is a great opportunity for someone who wants hands-on exposure in a stable, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
Assist with month-end close process
Prepare and post journal entries
Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Assist with invoice processing and payment tracking
Help maintain accurate financial records and documentation
Support audit requests and provide backup documentation
Assist with financial reporting and basic analysis
Work cross-functionally with internal departments on accounting needs
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
0-2+ years of accounting or finance experience (internships welcome)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Basic understanding of accounting principles
Proficiency in Excel
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Strong communication skills
Nice to Have
Any exposure to insurance industry or related accounting
Experience with accounting software (ERP systems a plus)
Schedule
Hybrid schedule (combination of onsite in Philadelphia and remote)
