Staff Accountant
Description
This position is based in Springdale, NJ and follows a hybrid schedule. Compensation: $60,000-$75,000 (contract-to-hire).
Are you looking for a well-rounded accounting role where you can stay hands-on and make an impact day to day? We’re working with a growing organization seeking a Staff Accountant to support core accounting functions and help maintain accurate financials. This role offers exposure to general ledger activity, reconciliations, and the month-end close process, along with opportunities to contribute to process improvements. It’s a great fit for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and enjoys working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, supporting accounts receivable activities, assisting with month-end close, and helping improve processes.
Everyday Responsibilities
· Prepare journal entries and maintain general ledger activity
· Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
· Assist with accounts receivable functions including invoicing and collections support
· Reconcile bank accounts and monitor cash activity
· Support month-end and year-end close processes
· Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
· Assist with audits and provide necessary supporting schedules
· Analyze financial data and support reporting efforts
· Identify and implement process improvements where needed
Requirements
The ideal Staff Accountant will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
Additional requirements include:
· 1+ years of accounting experience (public or corporate)
· Strong understanding of GAAP
· Experience with ERP systems (Sage Intacct or similar preferred)
· Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
