A growing FinTech company in Santa Monica is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team on a contract-to-hire basis. This individual will support month-end close, reconciliations, general ledger activities, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate has strong accounting fundamentals, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has experience with ERP systems. NetSuite experience is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Perform bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close.
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
- Support AP, AR, and cash management functions.
- Prepare audit schedules and assist with external audits.
- Analyze financial data and research accounting variances.
- Assist with financial reporting and ad hoc projects.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve accounting processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 2+ years of accounting experience.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close procedures.
- Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work onsite in Santa Monica.
