Title: Associate Distribution Engineer – T1
Remote / Hybrid Schedule:
4 days onsite, 1 day remote (Friday)
Notes:
10-20% overnight travel may be required; use of personal vehicle required; internal recruiting also sourcing; no OT expected; no OT billing restrictions
Overview
We are seeking an entry‑level engineer to support electric distribution design and field activities. This role is ideal for early‑career engineers who want hands‑on experience working on real‑world infrastructure projects, combining office‑based design work with occasional field inspections. You’ll work under the guidance of experienced engineers while developing technical, professional, and collaborative skills in a structured engineering environment.
Responsibilities
Assist with the development of design and construction packages for overhead and underground electric distribution systems
Perform basic engineering calculations under supervision (e.g., pole loading, conductor sag and tension, voltage drop)
Use CAD, GIS, and other engineering systems to support design work
Conduct site visits and field inspections, then return to the office to complete design documentation
Prepare permitting and support documentation as required by local authorities
Support construction activities, post‑construction reviews, and quality checks
Follow all safety, quality, and engineering standards
Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project stakeholders in a professional office setting
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited program
Strong preference for Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering
Other accredited engineering disciplines may be considered
Willingness to work primarily on‑site in a professional office environment
Ability to work both in the field and in the office, including outdoor environments
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Willingness to travel overnight as needed and use a personal vehicle
Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to electric utility or infrastructure projects
Familiarity with CAD, GIS, or similar engineering design tools
Basic understanding of engineering design standards and calculations
Interest in power, utilities, or large‑scale infrastructure work
