Job Description
- Review system block diagrams, interface control documents, and schematics to ensure compliance, redundancy, and alignment with requirements and concept of operations
- Lead FMEA/FMECA efforts and partner with cross-functional engineering teams to drive reliability improvements
- Perform predictive reliability analysis, including probability of loss of control, loss of asset, and MTBF/MTTF calculations using industry standards (e.g., MIL-HDBK-217)
- Develop and execute qualification test plans in collaboration with Test Engineering, including test setup, instrumentation, and campaign oversight
- Build maintainability prediction models and support preventative maintenance and sparing strategies (MIL-HDBK-472)
- Conduct Weibull analysis using qualification and field data to assess product reliability and lifecycle performance
- Partner with Quality and Manufacturing Engineering to embed requirements into production processes and validate acceptance test criteria
- Analyze field and production data to identify failure trends, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions and reliability process improvements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline
- 8+ years of experience in Reliability Engineering or Design/Development Engineering within aerospace or defense environments
- Experience with safety-critical systems
- Strong background in reliability engineering methods, including FMEA/FMECA, Weibull analysis, Fault Tree Analysis, and predictive modeling
- Familiarity with industry standards such as MIL-HDBK-217, MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-516C, and MIL-STD-1629
- Experience developing and executing qualification testing, reliability growth, and failure analysis processes
- Proven experience in design reviews (PDR, CDR, MRR) and communicating technical concepts across engineering and leadership teams
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance
