Sourcing Manager (IT & Operations) – Contract-to-Hire
Location: Minnetonka, MN (Onsite Tues-Thurs)
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week
Employment Type: Contract-to-hire (~6 months)
Pay Range: $42-$66 an hour
This is a strategic procurement role, applicants with transactional responsibilities will take lower priority

Beacon Hill’s client is seeking two Strategic Sourcing Managers to join a high-impact procurement team. Openings include:
- IT / Technology Sourcing
- Operations Sourcing (Marketing, Legal, and service categories)
This role is ideal for a strategic, certified sourcing professional who excels at building category strategies, driving measurable negotiation outcomes, and influencing senior stakeholders.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are targeting candidates who bring a true strategic sourcing mindset. The strongest candidates will have:
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing
- Demonstrated success building and executing category strategies
- Track record of negotiation outcomes, including cost savings and vendor concessions
- Experience influencing and partnering with Director/VP-level stakeholders
- Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred
Position Summary
This is a strategic, end-to-end sourcing role responsible for driving initiatives from intake through negotiation and final award. The Sourcing Manager will leverage industry best practices, certifications, and procurement technologies to optimize vendor relationships, reduce costs, and align sourcing strategies with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Own full sourcing lifecycle: intake, strategy, RFP/RFX, negotiation, and supplier award
- Develop and execute data-driven category strategies
- Analyze spend data, market benchmarks, and supplier performance
- Lead negotiations, including early-stage concessions and pricing strategies
- Partner with stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with business goals
- Drive cost savings and vendor consolidation opportunities
- Manage multiple concurrent sourcing projects in a fast-paced environment
- Utilize procurement tools to track sourcing activity and results
- Ensure alignment with compliance and risk management standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 4+ years of sourcing, procurement, or vendor management experience (or 8+ years without a degree)
- Proven experience executing end-to-end sourcing through final award
- Experience working with senior stakeholders across multiple teams
Preferred Certifications & Technical Expertise
- CPSM, CSCP, or similar sourcing certification
- PMP or equivalent project management certification
- Experience with procurement tools such as:
- ZIP Procurement (preferred)
- ERP systems (ADP, Oracle, or similar)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Power BI
Preferred Experience
- Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred
- Category experience aligned to one of the following:
- IT Role: Software/SaaS, technology services, staffing vendors
- Operations Role: Marketing, Legal, consulting, and service-based categories
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks (ISO27001, SOC 2, HiTrust)
Success Metrics
- Delivery against sourcing timelines and milestones
- Demonstrated cost savings and value creation
- Ability to influence and drive stakeholder decisions
