Assistant Property Manager (Contract-to-Hire)
A growing commercial real estate firm is seeking an Assistant Property Manager to support the day-to-day operations of a multi-tenant property portfolio. This role partners closely with the Property Manager to ensure efficient operations across lease administration, tenant relations, vendor coordination, and financial oversight.
The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in commercial property management, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive, customer-service-oriented mindset. This position is well-suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys balancing administrative responsibilities with tenant-facing interaction.
Duration: 6-month contract, strong potential to convert to fulltime
Hours: Onsite Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM with a 30-minute lunch
Rate: $25/hr-$25/hr, commensurate with experience
Key Responsibilities
- Support lease administration, including entering and maintaining lease data in the property management system
- Review rent rolls and assist with tracking rent collections, delinquencies, and late notices
- Coordinate tenant move-ins and move-outs, including walkthroughs, documentation, and system updates
- Serve as a point of contact for tenant requests, ensuring timely response and issue resolution
- Assign, track, and follow up on maintenance work orders in collaboration with building engineering teams
- Coordinate with vendors and assist in managing service contracts and property maintenance needs
- Process tenant-related items such as access credentials, parking permits, and directory updates
- Review operating expense billings, late fee reports, and assist with collections follow-up
- Code and process invoices and assist with general ledger reviews and accounting support
- Track tenant and vendor insurance compliance
- Assist in preparing monthly reports, annual budgets, and CAM reconciliations
- Participate in regular property inspections and support ongoing property operations
Qualifications
- 3+ years of commercial property management experience required
- Experience with property management systems (Yardi Voyager preferred)
- Working knowledge of commercial leases and basic accounting principles
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Self-motivated, proactive, and team-oriented
