Beacon Hill Legal is seeking a Family Law Paralegal for an urgent temporary opportunity with a law firm in Charlotte, NC.
This role will support a team of attorneys handling family law matters including litigation, mediation, and arbitration. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
Position Details
- Location: Charlotte, NC (South End) (onsite)
- Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00-5:00 or 8:30-5:30
- Duration: Temporary
- Team: Supporting 3 attorneys within a collaborative firm environment
- Software: MyCase
Key Responsibilities
- Manage case files, deadlines, and court calendars
- Draft pleadings, discovery, financial affidavits, and correspondence
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing consistent communication
- File documents with courts and maintain filing accuracy
- Assist attorneys with hearing and trial preparation
- Track time and support billing processes
- Handle general administrative and case management tasks
Qualifications
- 3+ years of recent family law paralegal experience required
- Strong drafting, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently within a small team environment
- Comfortable working with clients in sensitive, high-emotion situations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and e-filing systems (ECF, PACER, etc.)
- Experience with legal billing platforms; MyCase preferred
- Notary Public a plus
