Senior Employee Relations Consultant
Location: Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid)
Pay Rate: $70-$83/hour
Duration: 6-Month Contract (through end of year)
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: Full-Time
Beacon Hill’s client is seeking an experienced Senior Employee Relations Consultant to serve as a trusted advisor to leaders across the organization. This highly consultative HR role focuses on employee relations, workplace investigations, performance management, and employment law compliance. The ideal candidate will partner with leaders to navigate complex employee situations, mitigate organizational risk, and foster a positive, compliant workplace culture.
This position reports into the Performance Management function and will work closely with HR leadership, HR Business Partners, Legal, Compliance, and business stakeholders on sensitive employee matters.
Candidates must have 5+ years of direct employee relations expereince.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted consultant to leaders on employee performance, workplace concerns, and employee relations matters.
- Partner with HR and business leaders to assess, manage, and resolve employee relations issues.
- Coach leaders through corrective action, performance improvement plans (PIPs), performance management processes, and involuntary terminations.
- Conduct sensitive workplace investigations and provide recommendations based on findings.
- Provide guidance that balances employment law compliance, organizational risk mitigation, and business objectives.
- Collaborate with HRBPs, Employee Relations, Legal, Compliance, and other key stakeholders on complex employee matters.
- Drive consistent performance management practices across the organization.
- Support leaders in navigating challenging employee situations with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
- Maintain thorough documentation and case management records for employee relations matters.
- Identify risks and recommend proactive solutions to support business and employee outcomes.
Qualifications
- 5-8+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with a strong focus on employee relations.
- Demonstrated experience conducting workplace investigations and managing complex employee relations cases.
- Strong expertise in performance management, corrective action processes, and employee coaching.
- Thorough knowledge of employment laws and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to influence, coach, and partner effectively with leaders at all levels.
- Excellent conflict resolution, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written communication, documentation, and case management abilities.
- Ability to balance business needs with legal and organizational risk considerations.
- Experience handling sensitive, confidential, and high-risk employee matters with professionalism and discretion.
